Sarah Champion, Member of Parliament for Rotherham will seek to amend the Planning and Infrastructure Bill to prevent unscrupulous developers from exploiting loopholes in planning legislation to by-pass scrutiny for landfill sites.


Sarah has tabled an amendment that will cause un-utilised planning permission for landfill sites to lapse should the site be dormant for more than 10 years.

Crown Post Offices are directly managed by Post Office Ltd. and offer a full range of Government services, such as passport applications, vehicle tax and driving licence renewals. Post Office Ltd. has announced that it is to move to a franchised model, with Crown Post Offices replaced with a franchised branch, potentially at a different site.

Government plans to fortify UK steelmaking were welcomed by Rotherham MP Sarah Champion as a crucial step to protect the proud industrial heritage in Rotherham and grow the economy.

The Plan for Steel – launched by Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds earlier this month – will look at the long-term issues facing the industry like high electricity costs, unfair trading practices, and scrap metal recycling to protect jobs and living standards in the UK’s industrial heartlands.
